Do not miss the early bird registration deadline to May 1 for ISEMPH 2026 in Kiel, Germany.
The conference will start on Tuesday July 28, 5 pm with a welcome reception, and ends on Friday July 31 evening with the conference dinner. Please find the latest news on the program and logistics here.
Omenn and Williams Prize Winners
We are proud to announce the Williams Prize Winner 2026: Dr. Daniel Stadtmauer, Department of Genetics, Harvard Medical School, USA, with the article “Proximate and ultimate causes of pregnancy sickness”.
We also announce the Omenn Prize Winner 2026: Prof. Johan Nordgren, Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, Linköping University, Sweden, with the article “Natural Selection of a Virus-Protective FUT2 Variant Following the Transition to Agriculture” .
The Omenn Prize Committee also awarded Honorable Mention to four further papers:
Eshan King, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH 44106, USA, for the paper “Fitness seascapes are necessary for realistic modeling of the evolutionary response to drug therapy”, Science Advances.
Amanda Lea, Department of Biological Sciences, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, USA, for the paper “Adaptations to water stress and pastoralism in the Turkana of northwest Kenya”, Science.
Kimberly Luddy, Department of Cancer Biology and Evolution, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida, USA, for the paper “Evolutionary Double-Bind Treatment Using Radiation Therapy and Natural Killer Cell-Based Immunotherapy in Prostate Cancer”, Int J Radiation Oncol Biol Phys.
Alexander Robertson at Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, for the paper “Intracellular interactions shape antiviral resistance outcomes in poliovirus via eco-evolutionary feedback”, Nature Ecology & Evolution.
