Dear ISEMPH members and newsletter subscribers:
The ISEMPH annual meeting in Kiel in July 2026 was a great success, and we thank all attendees for their great contributions! We are already preparing ISEMPH 2027 on July 12-14 in Toronto. Please save the date and check out first information on the website ISEMPH - 2027 in Toronto, Canada.
We started the new academic year with several ideas on how to develop ISEMPH further. We would like to invite you to participate in this endeavor by completing a short survey on your view of Evolutionary Medicine and how it contributes to your everyday job. If you teach evolutionary medicine, we also encourage you to follow the link at the bottom of the survey to share your experiences teaching.
We are also considering ways that we can best support trainees and early-stage investigators. If you would like to be involved in this effort, please contact ISEMPH leadership at manager@evmed.org . We welcome people from all career stages in this effort, from students to full professors.
We would also like to remind you of the possibility to publish your work in the society’s journal Evolution, Medicine and Public Health (EMPH). EMPH is a high‑impact, interdisciplinary journal bridging evolutionary science and health practice. It considers contributions from a wide spectrum of topics, encompassing research on non-model organisms and insights derived from both theoretical research and practical applications. ISEMPH members receive a discount for publication fees, and those fees help support the society. Further details on EMPH’s aims, scope, and author guidelines are available on the journal website. Register for free for an email EMPH publication alert.
Best wishes, ISEMPH
